After more than 20 years of developing and leading scrap management, waste management, recycling, and resource optimization programs, Founder & President Chris Budnik recognized that many organizations were leaving significant value on the table. Decentralized programs, inconsistent vendor performance, and limited market visibility often result in unnecessary costs and missed opportunities.

Catalyst was built to solve those challenges.

Today, Catalyst partners with manufacturers, foundries, mills, fabrication shops, and industrial facilities to develop customized strategies that improve efficiency, strengthen vendor relationships, reduce operational risk, and maximize the value of scrap, waste, recycling, and alternate fuel programs.

Chris Budnik - Founder & President

Chris Budnik has spent more than two decades helping manufacturers improve the way they manage scrap, waste, recycling, and industrial resources. His experience spans scrap management, procurement strategy, logistics, waste stream optimization, alternate fuels, environmental compliance, and enterprise-wide resource management.

Throughout his career, Chris has worked alongside executive leadership, procurement teams, operations managers, and plant personnel to build programs that improve operational efficiency, increase transparency, and create measurable financial value.

Chris believes successful resource management starts with understanding each client's business, goals, and operational challenges. By working closely with clients and their teams, he develops practical, scalable strategies designed to deliver long-term value, not short-term fixes.
